Myself and 25 other girls across the United States have been victims of the same online dating scam. We have been fortunate, to my knowledge, of NOT being scammed for money but have been emotionally robbed. I have created a website dedicated to the person who has scammed us. The website is www.davidmatthewzane.weebly.com He has used a few other names as well. Several victims have contacted me through the website to talk about their experience and I have posted their stories on the website. I try to keep it updated so that new victims who become suspicious and try to do some research are able to find SOMETHING on this person and learn about what is really happening to them. This person has used websites such as Myspace and PlentyofFish to establish relationships. They have used several different people's pictures to claim as their own. This person has been doing this for at least 9 years that I can trace back. We also believe that there is a female involved in this online dating scam. We have reached out for help but have only hit dead ends. There have been two reports sent to IC3 but this person falls just shy of committing a crime. Please help us put a stop to this! I do what I can to bring awareness and to try and prevent this from happening to other people. There's only so much one person can do! Please help!!!!
I submitted information about this website to NBC News asking for stories on online dating scams. The same information has also been provided to cleveland.com/scamfinder
